Wild Columbine is a native wildflower perennial with delicate medium green biternate foliage.  Distinctive small drooping red and yellow bell-like flowers bloom in spring attracting hummingbirds.  Removing stems after flowering may encourage another bloom.  Flowers best in filtered sun and rich well-drained soils.  The canadensis species has good resistance to leaf miner.
