Starrush Whitetop is an evergreen native grass with upright slender foliage. Long stems sporting spikelets surrounded by showy creamy white bracts with green tips resemble flowers go up from late spring into summer.  Prefers partial sun and consistently moist to wet soil.  Tolerates shallow water and poorly drained clay soils.

Syn. with Dichromena colorata.
